Great Big Green Week
Eco Communities oversaw activities in the region for Great Big Green Week, promoted by The Climate Coalition including its Festival in Grosvenor Park in 2021 and beyond.
Eco Communities are pleased to be co-ordinating another fantastic week of activities as part of The Climate Coalition’s Great Big Green Week again this year. Great Big Green Week 2022 is from the 24 September – 2 October 2022. Help us to make it the greatest, biggest, greenest week Cheshire West has ever seen by organising an event in your community!
What is Great Big Green Week?
The idea was created by The Climate Coalition. The Climate Coalition is a group of over 100 organisations at 22 million members strong. Eco Communities are a member of what is the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action against climate change. Along with key organisations like RSPB, WWF, Fairtrade Foundation, National Trust, The Women’s Institute and more.
What events are taking place in the region?
Unfortunately climate change isn’t something we can fix over a week and so our aim is to use this platform to keep free flowing information on all activities within the region.

Eco Communities is registered as Eco Community UK CIC.
Who else is involved in supporting activities?
Cheshire West Libraries, University of Chester, West Cheshire Museums, Transition Chester, Frodsham Climate Action, Friends of the Earth Chester & District, Transition Northwich, Incredible Edible Handbridge, Plastic Free Cheshire, Northwich BID, Friends of Countess of Chester Park and Chester Zoo will all have activities taking place over the week.
Your voice counts
If our government takes strong action now, it can set us on a cleaner, greener, fairer path to restore the UK’s natural environment, protect the world’s most vulnerable people and provide hundreds of thousands of new jobs across our communities. For our government to act with ambition on climate change, politicians need to hear that you want them to act. Take the opportunity this Big Green Week to ask your MP to stand up for our planet.
The 2022 Festival has been supported financially and by charity support via Chester Zoo, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Co-operative, Sykes Cottages.
